The Aztec God of Animals
Tepeyollotl, the Aztec god of animals, darkened caves, echoes, and earthquakes. He was sometimes known as the Jaguar of the Night. In this picture, the spots on his coat stand for the stars in the night. On the Aztec calender he rules over two days, the third which means house (calli) and the deer (1-Mazatl). He represents anything in the dark, also animals of course.
